"Drills Equal Skills"

Steve Scafa Baseball Camps Schedules Clinics in July

Is your child ready for summer baseball?  No? Well, help him get ready! Let a former Yankees minor leaguer teach him or her the fundamentals which will enable your child to excel at the game making it more enjoyable for them and you. Steve Scafa a.k.a. “Coach Steve” will help your child improve in every aspect of the game – fielding, hitting, baserunning – all the while making it fun as they take the next step. Coach Steve’s motto is simple: “DRILLS EQUALS SKILLS. What you learn in practice is what you will do in the game.”

…… was drafted by the Yankees in 1981

…… played an integral role in “The Greatest College Baseball Game Ever Played” when St. John’s defeated Yale 1-0 in 1981

…… started one of the few triple plays in College World Series history

Steve has coached on every level from t-ball to high school summer league.  One parent recently called Steve, “One of the most intuitive coaches I have ever been around.” After last season ended, another parent stated that, “My son will accept nothing other than playing for you next year.” Well, that time has come!

Steve will hold two “mini-camps” to help your son or daughter learn the game the right way. Emphasis will be put on drills which will help your child to accelerate his or her learning of the true fundamentals of the game.

Session #1 – July 6th – 9:00 am to 11:00 am……. this program is for 7,8,9 yr-olds

(coach-pitch or machine-pitch level)

Session #2 – July 7th – 9:00 am to 11:00 am……. this program is for 10,11,12 yr olds

(kid-pitch level)

Each session will consist of no more than 10 players that will receive intense instruction for the entire two hours. Of course, there will be lots of fun also as the players try to hit “Mr. Green” for dollars at the end of the session. Water and Gatorade will be provided for the players but feel free to bring any drink that you wish.

Each player should wear a baseball hat, baseball pants or shorts, light shirt, socks and either sneakers or cleats. Bring your personal bat and helmet along with you if you have one also.

The cost for each camp is $40 per player. Each session will take place at the Pt. Lookout baseball fields located at the end of Lido Boulevard in Pt. Lookout. Feel free to drop your child off and pick them up when camp is over.

So why not sign your child up today and help him gain confidence and develop a feeling that he belongs on the field with the best of them. Or just help your child improve even more as he takes the next step up the baseball ladder. Don’t wait as space is limited!!

Steve is available for private lessons or small group instruction also. Call for pricing and info.
